A native of Statesboro, Mr. Parker received both his BBA in Accounting and his MACC in Taxation from the University of Georgia.  He holds CPA licenses in both the states of Georgia and Florida.

 

After completing graduate school, Mr. Parker has worked in public accounting on the national and local firm levels in Atlanta, Jacksonville and Macon.  He specializes in the field of taxation which includes the areas of corporate (C & S) taxation, partnership taxation, and individual taxation.  It also includes taxes related to nonprofits, trusts, gifts, estates and retirement plans.  He has represented countless individuals and businesses before the IRS, Georgia DOR, and Florida Department of Revenue.  His tax representation work includes not only tax audits, but also collections work and Offers in Compromise.

 

Mr. Parker has worked tirelessly for the profession at both the state and local levels.  He is currently a Trustee for the Georgia Federal Tax Conference.  He is a member of both the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Regarding the Georgia Society of CPA’s, on the local level he has served all four offices of the Middle Georgia Chapter as well as the Chapter Representative to the State Council for many years.  On the state level his officer and duties include:

Mr. Parker also serves on the Georgia Society of CPA’s Educational Foundation and presently is the Secretary of the Executive Committee and is a member of the Macon Estate Planning Council where he has held each of the officer positions as well as chairing the Nominating Committee.

Throughout the years, Mr. Parker has volunteered time with various organizations in our community.  He is an active member of Ingleside Baptist Church and the Macon Lions Club where he has served in each officer position and the Board of Directors.  He has worked with the Historic Macon Foundation and the Downtown Council of Macon.  He was a member of the 1992 Leadership Macon class and served on the MedCen Community Foundation.  He volunteers with Rebuilding Macon and serves on the Advisory Committee of the Brickyard at Riverside.

Mr. Parker is responsible for the overall firm tax practice.
