Chris Edwards and David McCoy attended the Georgia Association of Regional Commissions Conference on November 4th and 5th at the King & Prince Resort on St. Simons Island. Chris presented an interesting approach to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. His discussion focused on the uses of ARRA dollars, the initiatives, and more importantly some of the pitfalls of receiving ARRA funds. To view Chris' presentation, click here.

Ken Neil, our Director of Audits, attended the Annual Accounting Fair at Georgia College & State University on Monday September 21st. Over fifty accounting students gathered to meet firms from the middle Georgia area and discuss employment and internship opportunities. GC&SU continues to be a long-standing resource for the firm in fulfilling its staffing needs

Chris Edwards, director of our Litigation & Valuation Practice Group, attended the mid-year meeting of the Georgia Southern University Forensic Accounting Advisory Board (GSUFAAB) held in Atlanta on September 24th. Chris is one of the charter members of this GSU board and was able to return from the meeting with an a great report of the exciting developments of the GSU forensic accounting curriculum and the related Masters of Accountancy degree the school offers. Look for later articles regarding the May 2010 Forensic Accounting Conference to be hosted by the GSUFAAB.

We are proud to announce the addition of Crystal Cantrell Vaughn to our professional staff. Crystal received her bachelors in Business Information Technology at Macon State College and then progressed to earn her Masters of Accountancy (MAcc) from Georgia Southern University in their Forensic Accounting curriculum. Crystal has already earned the designation of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and joined us in August of 2009 to pursue her career in Forensic Accounting. We look forward to sharing in her successes. |
