Degree Requirements

DiplomasCLHP is a professional firm made up of professionals.  Therefore, it is critically important that all applicants for positions on our professional staff must be eligible to become Certified Public Accountants.  Georgia licensing laws were revised in the early 2000's to require additional educational achievement to be eligible for a license as a Certified Public Accountant.

The Georgia State Board of Accountancy now requires the completion of 150 semester hours (or 225 quarter hours) of college education, including a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. These hours must include an undergraduate accounting concentration and related courses in other areas of business administration. Completion of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in accounting subjects above the elementary level and 24 semester hours or 35 quarter hours in general business subjects at a four year accredited college or university which offers a baccalaureate degree will satisfy the accounting concentration and related business requirements.  Presently, a masters degree is not required to meet these standards.
